I have a client that previously had Folder Redirection turned on with Group Policy without the setting to return files to Local once removed. The server they were redirected to no longer exists.

I have created a new share on a new server for Folder Redirection. When I applied this to the effected Users, nothing changed. I'm fine with even doing one at a time through the Registry if need be. I'd suggest you to refer this article on Folder Redirection, Offline Files, and Roaming User Profiles overview and check the new and changed functionality.

However, as this issue is related to server, I'd suggest you to post your query in TechNet Forumswhere we have support professionals who are well equipped with the knowledge on servers to handle this issue for you. I'm not WMI expert here If anyone has a comment about this, please let me know. I would really love to know. All I added was "or Version like " I'm not even sure this is correct or proper syntax, but it definitely works. To fix this, you need to open the Group Policy Management console.

Anyone here familar with them? The reason I ask, is that the default filter for the Folder Redirection doesn't target Windows 10 systems properly. Removing this from the query string targets Client OS's only It works, but it's not what I'd like to do here To answer my own question here, anyone that wants to get Folder Redirection working on Windows 10, edit the WMI filter query to this instead:. Absolutely bizarre.

Posted about it on the Technet forums, so maybe somebody at microsoft will see it and get a fix out That's not new maths that's because the version is treated as a string not as a number. So there is not 10, it's just "1" which is less than "6".

Talking with somebody that is more familar with WMI commands, yeah, that's what the conclusion was. But it make things "difficult" to say the least. Or at least painful if you don't realize this was going to happen. A possibly cleaner way of doing it is to think of it from the other direction. Exclude the older versions and accept everything else. You need to be a member in order to leave a comment. The appropriate capability is included in the built-in Remote Desktop client, mstsc.

Under local resources, you can enable or disable redirection for your video capture devices such as webcams. There is a new group policy option that can be used to disable this feature. This policy setting lets you control the redirection of video capture devices to the remote computer in a Remote Desktop Services session. If you enable this policy setting, users can redirect their video capture devices to the remote computer. Users can use the More option on the Local Resources tab of the Remote Desktop Connection to choose the video capture devices to redirect to the remote computer.

If you disable or do not configure this policy setting, users cannot redirect their video capture devices to the remote computer. It is a special network protocol which allows a user to establish a connection between two computers and access the Desktop of a remote host. The local computer is often referred to as the "client". If you are running Windows, in most cases you use mstsc. Tip: See Remote Desktop mstsc. Source: Tero Ahlonen. Australia - English.I am testing a new group policy for windows 10 folder redirection but it does not seem to be working and I think I have everything correct so here goes.

Now I notice that the gp applied the correct security group, but did not apply the corresponding policy. I had a similar issue and found that it was actually an issue with permissions on the file server.

You need to make sure the folders that are the destination of the redirection has the correct permissions. You've removed Authenticated Users from the scope tab that's fine but then you have to add the Authenticated users group to your Delegation tab with READ permissions There was an update that broke a lot of peoples GPO's.

That is the first thing that comes to mind. You say you have authenticated users, but maybe try adding Domain Computers.

Brand Representative for AJ Tek. For sake of ease - here's the info from the other thread. I made a change so authenticated users is the security group and in the delegation. The policy is now being shown in gpresult, however the sync center is still empty and there is nothing listed in manage offline files.

Are you seeing any errors in the event viewer? We had issues when going from Windows 7 to a few Windows 8 machines - the 7s worked fine, but the 8s didn't. Turned out we had error showing up in the logs and it was an issue with the server SMB "level" - it had to be updated to V3. Well I almost have this working but seems one of two things happen, either the network drive thinks it is local or it sees the home drive but are grey x's on every folder.

CSC cache fix removes all redirect stuff but takes like 6 reboots to get it working again. OK so it seems actually clicking the sync now button totally breaks the sync. Things seem to be working now.
